"Without breeders no horses and without horses no sport!", it is something they are very aware of at Studbook Zangersheide. Apart from the many sporting highlights, the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses is also the annual moment when Studbook Zangersheide wants to take a moment to reflect on this and honour a the loyal breeders.

To give the breeders an extra service, Zangersheide has for several years maintained a ranking of horses which are registered with Studbook Zangersheide at birth and which now perform in the international sport. The breeders of the winning horses top 3 were awarded a premium this afternoon before the start of the Belgian Championships.

Beauville Z N.O.P.
The honour of the best Zangersheide horse this year was reserved for the 14-year-old gelding Beauville Z N.O.P., a son of Bustique and Jumpy des Fontaines who was bred by Pascal Habets and has been a top duo with Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten for several years. Beauville Z of course owes his victory in the Zangersheide ranking mainly to his fantastic European Championship performance in Herning, Denmark, last month. After Maikel van der Vleuten and Beauville Z N.O.P. had already won individual bronze at the Tokyo Olympics last year, they managed to win individual bronze again at the European Championships in Herning. Add to that a silver medal with the Dutch team to complete another fantastic championship for this duo!

Also late last year and earlier this year, van der Vleuten and Beauville Z N.O.P. managed to produce some strong performances. For example, in October last year they had an important share in the victory of the Dutch team at the Nations Cup final in Barcelona and finished 3rd at both the CSI5* GP of Doha and the CSIO5* of Knokke.

Dominator 2000 Z
We are very proud to say that second place in the Zangersheide ranking goes to our own stallion Dominator 2000 Z, the 12-year-old son of Diamant de Semilly and Cassini I bred by Tony Foriers. Christian Ahlmann and Dominator 2000 Z finished brilliantly 2nd in the Sires Of The World at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses 2021 exactly a year ago and continued that upward line into 2022. They have been performing at the top of their game for multiple months now, with wins in the LGCT Grand Prix of Hamburg and Stockholm as absolute standouts. But they were also on target in the LGCT Grand Prix of Doha and at the CSIO5* Grand Prix of Aachen and jumped to a top ranking.

Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z
For the second year in a row, the 3rd place in the rankings went to the 14-year-old chestnut stallion Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z, a son of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve and Mr. Blue bred by Jonas Bellemans. Under the saddle of German rider Daniel Deusser, Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z won the CSI5* GP of Wellington in February, followed a few weeks later by a victory at the Rolex Grand Prix of 's Hertogenbosch. Moreover, a few weeks ago, they were also the best at the CSI3* GP of the Brussels Stephex Masters.
